Autumn TBR
Autumn’s just around the corner, so I thought it appropriate to start thinking about what I’m going to read during this busy time. I’m excited to get back to school but am slightly sad for the summer to be over, as it means less time to dedicate to reading. However, I also love to curl up on a cosy autumn afternoon and read in order to wind down from the day. The list is going to be shorter, but I’m really excited for the books on this list!
George Orwell: A Literary Life
Eric Arthur Blair, better known as George Orwell, is one of history’s most celebrated authors and one of my personal favourites. His political works, especially Animal Farm, have left an indelible mark on literary history and the world. Its allegorical layers and commentary on politics captivated me, thanks in part to my engaging English teacher.
Summer TBR
School has broken up which means that Summer is officially here! I’m so excited to have more time on my hands and that means more time for reading. I know this is really late and I apologise for that. It’s been really busy lately, but I’m excited to get back to it. I’ve got a nice selection of books lined up for the summer and am very excited to share them with you. However, as most mood readers know, a TBR is just a suggestion of what to read. Without further ado, let’s get to the books!
Spring TBR list
Welcome to my first TBR of this year! My TBRs this year are going to be seasonal rather than monthly. This will give me more time to read and enjoy the books and also more time to do other things as well. Over the next few months, I hope to be able to read a lot but not neglect anything else, such as studying and other hobbies. Without further ado, I hope you’ll enjoy finding out what I plan to read over the next few months. Maybe there is something on my list for you to enjoy too!
Winter Wrap Up
I wanted to let you know that I’ll be making some changes to my blog this year. As a student, I’ve been finding it difficult to balance my school work and writing monthly wrap-ups of 10 books. Although I read a lot more than that, I don’t think I can continue with this schedule. So, I’ve decided to switch to seasonal wrap-ups instead. This way, I’ll have more time to choose my favorite books from the last three months and write better and more concise articles. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of my favorite books from the last couple of months.
OctoberTBR pile
Another month, another TBR! That’s right, it’s October! The month of all things scary! While I am a mood reader, I still like to have a TBR for each month. I’m trying something new. I don’t really own any spooky or scary books, so I took a trip to my local library and took out some books perfect for the spooky season!
The life of Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allan Poe is a well-known author who wrote many poems, short stories and one novel. He particularly liked to write horror fiction, adventure, detective fiction and science fiction; some of his most famous works being The Raven and Stories for Halloween. A lot of people know and love his writing, but how many know about him as a person?
My favourite quotes from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
f you’ve read my about me page and/or my review of this brilliant book written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I recently heard that the book is being made into a movie, and I could not be more excited! So, in light of this news, I’ve decided to write an article on my 10 favourite quotes from the book.
September TBR pile
As I am sure many of you know, buying and reading books are two entirely different hobbies But I think Henry Ward Beecher said it best: “Where is human nature so weak as in a bookstore?” This month I had twelve books on my TBR pile, so I decided that this was the month to hunker down and read them all!
